Monthly Meetings of the Board of Directors in 2010 will occur on January 17, February 27, March 20, April 24, and June 12. There will be no meetings in May and July. The balance of the meetings for 2010 will be posted in May.)

On February 7, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kosciuszko Monument in the Public Garden, Boston, the Polish American Congress of Eastern Massachusetts will hold its annual wreath-laying ceremony in honor of Tadeusz Kosciuszko, American and Polish hero and patriot, altruist, and champion of freedom, independence, democracy and equality.

 

 

On April 30, 2010 the American Association of the Friends of Kosciuszko at West Point will hold its 7th Annual Kosciuszko Conference in the Thayer Hotel  at the United States Military Academy, in West Point, NY. The following day, May 1, the Association will conduct the 182nd anniversary year Observance of the dedication of the Kosciuszko Monument of West Point in 1828, thereby making it the oldest monument erected to his memory in the western hemisphere and the second oldest in the world after that of the Kosciuszko Mound (Kopiec Kosciuszki) completed in 1823 in Krakow, Poland. Both the Conference and the Observance will include commemoration of the 600th anniversary of the Battle of Grunwald-Tannenburg-Zalgiris in which the forces of Poland and Lithuania defeated those of the Knights of the Teutonic Order. On May 3, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in the State House, Beacon Street, Boston, the Polish American Congress will commemorate the 219th anniversary of Poland’s Constitution of May 3, 1791. (Further details and location in the State House will

be posted on this website no later than April 1, 2009.)

 

 

On October 29, 2010 from 11:a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the Polish American Congress of both Eastern and Western Massachusetts, in concert with the Polish Legislative Caucus of the Massachusetts Legislature, will celebrate the Fourth Annual POLISH AMERICAN CONGRESS DAY at the State House, Boston. The meeting, however, will mark the first time that POLISH AMERICAN CONGRESS DAY is celebrated under the umbrella of Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 6, Section MMMMM that was enacted by the legislature and approved by the governor in December 2009. (Further details to be posted on this website no later than July 1, 2010.)
